About Us
The Pines Tennis Club began operating in 1986 and owes its success to the involvement of its enthusiastic and dedicated members. In recognition of this, The Pines was awarded the Club of the Year for 2000 and 2011 by TennisACT.
The Club is a non-profit organisation but is required to collect fees and fundraise to pay for the operation and maintenance of the existing and development of new facilities.
The Club is administered by a Committee elected from the membership each year at the annual general meeting (AGM). There are also sub-committees to fundraise, organise social events, tournaments, pennant teams, manage junior development and plan ahead for Club improvements. Membership fees are determined at the AGM and remain in place for the duration of the year.
The Club is active in all areas of tennis including social and pennant tennis for seniors and juniors, off-court social activities, fundraising and working bees. We enjoy a good relationship with TennisACT, the governing body for tennis in the ACT, and the Tuggeranong Vikings Club who have provided financial assistance to the Club for a number of years.
